We have lift off – Pride in Leadership launch event

Our re-brand launch event on 7 July was a huge success see the video and photos here.

On Thursday 7 July, we launched Pride in Leadership at a fantastic event in central Manchester, sponsored by Crowe.

Although now national, Pride in Leadership started out as a North West-based informal network. The lockdowns drove our events online in 2022, and, with the support of excellent LGBTQ+ speakers from across all sectors, we grew organically to over 1,000 members across the country.

This increased our confidence that the LGBTQ+ community would benefit from a network to  elevate, connect and support LGBTQ+ leaders, and make them more visible.

Our Co-Founder Matt Haworth, and member Jamie Lowe talked about our exciting upcoming events.

Hear more about Pride in Leadership, our journey so far, and our ambitions for the future in the recording of the relaunch speech by Co-Founder Claire Ebrey below…

We also welcomed Malcolm Press CBE, Vice Chancellor of Manchester Metropolitan University, to the Pride in Leadership stage. Malcolm shared his leadership journey. His colleagues contributed from the floor, telling the room of the positive impact of having an out and proud gay leader.

There was a real buzz around the creation of Pride in Leadership and its potential to connect, elevate and support LGBTQ+ leaders from across all sectors. And we received a lot of offers of support from individuals and businesses wanting to get more involved.

We feel energised to take this forward and look forward to announcing some exciting plans very soon.

A summary and video of our conversation with Malcolm is here and the photos from the launch event are below.
