Manchester Literature Festival (MLF) is seeking two new Trustees to join the Board of Directors and help lead one of the North’s most innovative literary festivals in its exciting next phase of development.

By Claire Ebrey · February 5, 2023

Manchester Literature Festival provides unique and imaginative opportunities for audiences to experience high quality live literature through an annual Festival in October, as well as a Spring programme and a year-round Creative Learning Programme. A firm believer in the transformative power of words and stories, MLF showcases and commissions some of the most interesting voices in fiction, poetry, song-writing, activism and culture.

The Role of Trustees

Trustees provide leadership and strategic direction for MLF, ensuring that financial and other resources are well-managed, and use their skills, knowledge, experience and contacts to help support the development of the organisation and raise the profile of the Festival’s work.

The Festival particularly welcomes applications from people with skills and expertise in the following areas: fundraising, Human Resources, IT/digital capacity building and commercial business experience. We are also committed to ensuring that our Board is representative of the diverse population we serve and at this time would especially welcome applications from people who identify as being of the Global Majority, Working Class or Disabled.
