Pride in Leadership aims to bring fantastic opportunities to our members across the country. This month, our partners, Charity People, are recruiting for Bi Pride UK. here are the details.

Bi Pride UK is an award-winning charity whose mission is to create spaces where people who experience attraction beyond gender can be freely visible and celebrate themselves and their identities. Now in our sixth year, we are looking forward to significant growth in 2023, with a focus on defining our strategy for the next three years.

Bi Pride UK is run by the community for the community. Many of our volunteers identify as being attracted to more than one gender. Our vision is that all people who experience attraction beyond gender can be proud of their identity and celebrate themselves in all physical and virtual spaces without fear of their identity being questioned or ridiculed.

As an organisation, we are entirely run by volunteers, and our Trustees are central to everything we do. Although our trustees are more involved in the day-to-day workings of our charity than they might be in a bigger charity with a paid staff team, we aspire to build a staff team and grow our reach and impact significantly.

Charity People is proud and privileged to work with Bi Pride UK to help find four brilliant new trustees who will play a crucial role in setting the charity’s future direction.

We’d love to speak to candidates with specialist skills in the following areas to support this important work.

  • Income Generation
  • Events
  • Treasurer
  • Charity Secretary

Bi Pride UK is committed to being an inclusive organisation that represents the diverse communities we serve and to doing better to build a more diverse team. We actively encourage applications from candidates with personal insight into a broad range of experiences. We encourage you to apply if you are part of a racialised community, trans and/or non-binary, or disabled, as these experiences are currently under-represented on our Board.

We value the experience gained in any setting, especially through less formal methods, such as parenting, caring responsibilities, and volunteering. We encourage applicants to draw on examples of such experiences to demonstrate their transferable skills and knowledge.

If you believe you can contribute through your experience and skills, please get in touch by sending a draft CV or profile to Tiku van Houtem (tiku@charitypeople.co.uk) who is leading this opportunity, and she will be in touch to arrange a call to discuss the next steps.

Charity People actively promotes equality, diversity and inclusion. We match charity needs with the skills and experience of candidates, irrespective of age, disability (including hidden disabilities), gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. We do this because we know greater diversity will lead to even greater results for the charities we work with.

  • Closing date – 10th March
  • Interview Dates – 20th March
