Trudy‘s story is one of breaking barriers and championing diversity. From her roots in Wales to national and global leadership roles at Vodaphone, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Microsoft, she has consistently advocated for underrepresented groups in the tech world. As the former Chair of UCAS and Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), Trudy has been instrumental in promoting equality and inclusion in education and professional spheres.
But the conversation will go beyond professional achievements. Trudy‘s passion for LGBTQ+ allyship is deeply personal, influenced by her experiences as a mother of two gay sons and as a sister to a gay brother. She understands first-hand the critical role allies play in creating environments where everyone can thrive.
As well as hearing Trudy’s inspirational story we’ll explore the tangible impacts of effective allyship, which research shows may boost self-esteem and life satisfaction, and reducing workplace stress for LGBTQ+ individuals. Trudy and Matt will discuss practical insights on how to be a better ally, drawing from both their professional expertise and personal experiences.
This is more than just a talk—it’s an opportunity to engage with an influential leader on a topic that’s crucial for LGBTQ+ people at work.
Whether you’re an established professional, an aspiring leader, or simply passionate about creating positive change, join us for an inspiring evening that celebrates the power of allyship and its potential to transform workplaces and lives.
The talk will be followed by drinks and food to network over thanks to the kind support of our hosts Shoosmiths.
